      • 4 cups fresh nettle leaves (wear gloves when handling!)
      • 2 tablespoons olive oil
      • 2 cloves garlic, minced
      • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
      • Pinch of black pepper
      • Optional: Squeeze of lemon juice

      Instructions

      Prepare Nettles:

      1. Thoroughly wash nettles under cold running water
      2. Use tongs or gloved hands to transfer to a colander
      3. Boil a pot of water and blanch nettles for 2 minutes to remove stinging properties
      4. Drain and immediately rinse with cold water to stop cooking
      5. Gently squeeze out excess moisture

      Sauté:

      1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
      2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant
      3. Add blanched nettles to the pan
      4. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally
      5. Season with salt and pepper

      Serve:

      1. Transfer to a serving dish
      2. Optional: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top
      3. Serve immediately as a side dish

      Safety Preparation

      IMPORTANT: Always use thick gloves when handling fresh nettles to avoid skin irritation. The cooking process neutralizes the stinging compounds.
