Body weight plays a role in determining tincture dosage.
Larger men and women may need twice the dosage, whereas children are approximately half, varying up or down depending on how big they are. One formula is to divide the child's weight, in pounds, by 150. This will give the percentage of the adult dosage to use for a child.
Care should be taken to use the gentlest herbs possible when working with children as they are sensitive and generally respond quickly. Only a few drops of the most benign herbs are appropriate for infants. Children should only use our Children's herbal remedies and stay away from our Adult remedies.
