This potent, time-honored blend of boneset, elderberries, echinacea, ginger, and cinnamon is designed for short-term use when extra support is needed. Made using the folk method with a balance of alcohol and glycerin, this tincture is best used at the first sign of seasonal challenges and taken consistently for up to a week.
Ingredients

½ cup dried boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum)

½ cup dried elderberries (Sambucus nigra)

⅓ cup dried echinacea root (Echinacea purpurea or Echinacea angustifolia)

2 tbsp dried ginger root (Zingiber officinale), chopped

2 tbsp cinnamon chips (Cinnamomum spp.)

1 ½ cups high-proof alcohol (vodka or brandy, at least 80 proof)

1 ½ cups food-grade vegetable glycerin
Directions
- Add the dried herbs and berries to a clean pint-sized glass jar.
- Pour the alcohol and glycerin over the herbs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Stir well.
- Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake thoroughly.
- Store in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking daily to help extract the herbal goodness.
- After the infusion period, strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, squeezing out as much liquid as possible.
- Transfer the tincture into amber glass dropper bottles for storage.
HOW TO USE
- Take 1-2 dropperfuls up to 3 times daily when needed. Best used at the onset of seasonal discomfort and taken consistently for no more than one week at a time. Can be taken directly or diluted in water, tea, or juice.
